Monet discovers Giverny, 1883-1890 <\/em><\/p>\n\n To mark the centenary of Claude Monet’s death<\/strong> on December 5, 1926, the Mus\u00e9e des Impressionismes is organizing an exceptional exhibition devoted to the artist’s early years in the village of Giverny, from his arrival in 1883 to the end of 1890, when he became the owner of his house and was able to begin creating his garden.<\/p>\n\n During these seminal years, Monet explored his new surroundings<\/strong>: poppies, poplars, meadows and hills, the courses of the Epte and Seine rivers, a whole topography shaped by rain and fog, sun and clouds.
